Message from President Skip
Welcome to the cyber home of the Rotary Club of Johnson City, TN My name is George E. "Skip" Oldham, III. I have the honor and privilege of serving as the 90th president of our club in the 2007-2008 Rotary year.
The Rotary Club of Johnson City was founded on October 1, 1916, and received a charter from Rotary International on June 1,1917 as club #298.. Our club is the second oldest of 83 clubs that make up District 7570 of Rotary International.
Rotary is a service organization of nearly 1,225,000 business, and professional leaders formed in 1905 which includes over 32,507 Rotary Clubs in over 168 countries with world headquarters in Evanston, Illinois.All Rotary clubs are a network of community volunteers. Service to others is our primary goal. If you would like to share with Rotary in our service to the community and world, please let us know. While membership in Rotary is by invitation, we are always looking for service oriented members.This year the theme is Rotary Shares.. If you are interested in learning more about Rotary, contact a current Rotary club member. Let that member know that you would like to learn more about Rotary, and join them as a guest at a weekly meeting. You will find that our members are eager to share with you everything about the Rotary Club of Johnson City and Rotary International.
